Pacific Rim School District Announces Appointment of Carl Poole as Principal of Tsuma-as Elementary School
Port Alberni, BC October 5, 2026 - Pacific Rim School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Carl Poole as Principal of Tsuma-as Elementary School.
Having 12 years of experience as a Vice-Principal, Carl currently serves as a Vice-Principal at Alberni District Secondary School (ADSS) where he has been an important part of the school’s leadership team, supporting students, staff and families. An elementary-trained teacher, Carl also brings a strong understanding of elementary education and the importance of creating welcoming, supportive learning environments where students can thrive.
His move to Tsuma-as Elementary School brings his leadership experience and knowledge of the Pacific Rim School District to a new school community. Carl’s familiarity with the district, its students and families, and its priorities will support a smooth transition into his new role. “We are very pleased to welcome Carl into the role of Principal at Tsuma-as Elementary School,” said Dr. Jaslene Atwal, Superintendent. “Carl is a thoughtful and dedicated educational leader who cares deeply about students and the relationships that help them thrive. We look forward to seeing him bring that leadership to the Tsuma-as school community.”
