District Behaviour Resource Teacher
The District Behaviour Resource Teacher provides district‑wide leadership, intervention, and support for students exhibiting challenging behaviours that impede learning. This role collaborates with administrators, teachers, support staff, and families to develop and implement evidence‑based behavioural supports across general and inclusive education settings. The DBRT supports inclusive practices, improves student outcomes, and builds staff capacity through coaching, consultation, and professional learning.
District Board Certified Behaviour Analyst
The District Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) provides a range of services focused on supporting students with behavioural, social, and sometimes academic needs. The District BCBA can assist with conducting functional behaviour assessments and the development of positive behaviour support plans. The District BCBA may also provide consultation, training, and in-service to school teams that may include EAs, teachers, and principals/vice principals.
Elementary Counselling
Elementary counselling services are designed to support the well-being and success of all students by fostering a safe, inclusive, and caring school environment. School counsellors act as advocates for students, helping them develop the personal, social, emotional, and academic skills needed to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
Counselling services may be provided through individual or small group sessions, depending on student needs. Support is responsive, strengths-based, and developmentally appropriate. Areas of focus may include:
- Emotional regulation
- Building and maintaining healthy friendships
- Developing self-esteem and confidence
- Trauma-informed support
- Managing anxiety and stress
- Resolving social conflicts
- Classroom-based support strategies
- Grief and loss
- Family changes, including separation and divorce
Integrated Child and Youth (ICY) Teams – Clinical Counsellor
The primary responsibilities of the ICY Clinical Counsellor are to work as part of the multi-disciplinary, multi-jurisdictional integrated team to provide therapeutic counselling services and school liaison support for children, youth and families experiencing mild to moderate mental health needs. In addition, the ICY Clinical Counsellor can deliver workshops and ongoing training to families, district staff, and community agencies and can also lead counselling groups for children, youth and families as needed. The ICY Clinical Counsellor focuses on providing inclusive, trauma informed, and culturally sensitive and safe services and supports for children, youth, and families in our district.
Integrated Child and Youth (ICY) Teams - Youth Peer Support Worker
The youth peer support worker position supports youth by using their own lived experience to build trust and connection. They provide encouragement, emotional support, and help youth navigate school, mental health, and community services. The role focuses on relationship building, advocacy, and helping youth work toward their personal goals. Peer support workers promote culturally safe, trauma-informed and youth centered care, and supporting youths' involvement within the school or community.
