Pam Craig serves on the following Board Committees:  Indigenous Education Council Board Rep, Board Policy Committee Vice-Chair,  Occupational Health and Safety Committee, Teacher/Trustee Liaison Committee, BCSTA VISTA Branch Vice-President, City of Port Alberni Board REP, DPAC Board Rep, Alberni Valley Museum & Heritage Commission Board Rep.

Pam was born and raised in Port Alberni; she graduated from ADSS and attended Simon Fraser University in the Faculty of Education.  Pam has deep sense of responsibility to work hard for young people in supporting their learning in every way possible.  Pam’s focus is to make sure every student has what they need to be successful at school.  Pam is honoured to be an elected School Trustee on the Pacific Rim Board of Education.  It is her belief that Boards of Education are responsible for providing updated current policies, resources and actions of the school district to ensure all students have the best possible educational experiences, while at the same time making sure parents and community partners are meaningfully engaged’.

School Trustees are the strong local voices for students that make sure the unique needs of Pacific Rim students are not overlooked by government.  A Board of Education in British Columbia is most effective when it leads as a team with strong collaboration and mutual trust.  Pam remains committed to working together with all trustees in a cooperative and consensus building team effort.  

Trustee Craig fully supports the Pacific Rim Indigenous Education Council Partnership.  The Board welcomes First Nations Education Representatives to sit at the Board Table at each public meeting.  Pacific Rim School District acknowledges in every email closing the incredibly beautiful traditional territories of the nuučaan̓uł Nations of the Pacific Rim region.

Pam is continuing to find ways to highlight and celebrate innovative strategies of the Pacific Rim professional teachers and staff.   Pam also continues to encourage every opportunity in environmental studies where students can be outside and into nature for their learning.  Many students are excelling in Learning on the Land Program in all aspects of Ministry required course work.

Trusteeship for Pam is about serving the community’s most valuable citizens – Pacific Rim Students.  Pam has the energy, knowledge and dedication to contribute experience and ethical leadership for every student of Pacific Rim.
