Great work Alberni District Secondary School Athletic Department
A big shout out to the ADSS athletes, coaches and organizers who participated in the Annual Athletic Department food drive on the evening of December 8th. Members from every ADSS Athletic team loaded into 7 different buses to go door to door throughout Port Alberni asking for donations to the Salvation Army Food Drive.
ADSS Athletic Director and event organizer, Mike Roberts, reminded all the coaches and athletes how important the event is when addressing the group at the start of the evening. “It is important that we get out there to support our community. Tonight when we go out we need to remember to be safe and to show with our actions that we are all one big community, hacatakin cawaak (we are all one).”
As Salvation Army Captain Michael Ramsay noted, “This was an amazing food drive! It will help out so many people in our community during these particularly challenging times. Thank you so much!”
