Riding your Bike or Scooter to school at Howitt!
We have seen an increase in students riding bikes or scooters to school. From Bike to School week, to nice weather, more students are riding to school. This is great!
However, we realized that not all students were aware of our expectations when coming to school with your bike or scooter.
- We ask that students do not ride their bikes on school grounds before or after school. We ask that they walk their bikes/scooters to the road before riding. This helps to make sure they are safe, and don't run into any other students, staff, or parents at pick up or drop off.
- Please bring a lock: some students were storing their bikes inside the school, but we do not have the space to do that for all. Students can use the bike rack by Tebo Avenue or lock their bikes to the tether ball poles by the green park.
- Wear a helmet: thanks to students for wearing their helmets. But not all are bringing them to school. Please encourage your child to wear a helmet if riding to school.
If you have any questions, please contact the school.
