Interested in studying abroad or having an exchange abroad?
The Pacific Rim International Student Program is excited to partner with international organizations to offer Pacific Rim secondary students an opportunity to live and study in another country. Please see below for current exchange opportunities and information about studying abroad. These exchange opportunities are open to all Pacific Rim students in Grade 10-12 at ADSS & USS. French Exchange - Summer (1 month)
Canadian students will spend the month of July with a French family in the northwest of France (Nantes region) near the Atlantic Ocean. The French partner student will then come to Canada for the month of August. Students will travel to France in a group, but will be placed in different communities throughout the region.
This opportunity is available to any students with a basic/intermediate level of French.

Application Deadline: March 8th, 2024
- Canadian students travel June 28th and return July 26th, 2024 with their exchange partners
- French students are in Port Alberni July 26th to August 23rd, 2024
- Cost: $2500 includes airfare and medical

Prospective travel dates:
Depart Nanaimo Airport on July 4th
Depart France (Paris) on August 2nd
French Students depart Nanaimo Airport on Aug 30th.
As part of the onboarding process of receiving an international student in your home, we will conduct a short home visit as well as a Criminal Records Check, like we do for our regular International Student Program.
French Exchange - Two Months
We are investigating and developing school-based short term exchanges. This opportunity will be open to students who are fluent in French and have studied in the French Immersion program. Please connect with us if you are interested in this opportunity. (will not be available until the 25/26 School Year)
