Tofino Saltwater Classic
Dear Wickaninnish School Families,
When you support the Tofino Saltwater Classic, you’re helping fund programs that directly benefit Wickaninnish School students.
Funds raised through the Tofino Saltwater Classic help support important initiatives including the Healthy Lunch Program, literacy programs, and other opportunities that help our children learn, grow, and thrive. The event also provides funding to a number of local non-profit organizations that strengthen the community our families call home.
As a parent or caregiver, there are several ways you can help make this year’s event a success.
Volunteer with the Crew
The Tofino Saltwater Classic simply couldn’t happen without volunteers.
Whether you can spare a few hours or help throughout the weekend, we’d love to have you join our volunteer crew. Volunteer opportunities are available during the event weekend, July 3–5, and in the weeks leading up to the event.

Even if you’ll be away during the event weekend, there are still plenty of ways to help beforehand.
Donate to the Online Auction
One of the biggest ways we raise funds for the school and local organizations is through our online auction.
If you own a business, manage a vacation rental, provide services, create artwork, or have an item or experience you would be willing to donate, we would greatly appreciate your support.
To be included in this year’s auction, please contact us by June 22. The auction goes live on June 26.

Join the Fun During Event Weekend July 3-5
There are several family-friendly activities happening throughout the Tofino Saltwater Classic, and we’d love to see Wickaninnish School families taking part.
Friday, July 3 | 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Youth Ball Hockey with Brendan Morrison & Guests
Kids are invited to enjoy two hours of ball hockey, skills, games, and fun with Brendan Morrison and special guests. Every participant receives a free event t-shirt.
Friday, July 3 | 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Community Concert
This is one event we’d especially love to see local families attend.
Bring your lawn chairs, gather your friends, and enjoy a fun evening of live music while supporting local causes.

Tickets are just $20 for general admission, and discounted family packs are available.
Every ticket sold helps support the organizations and programs that make our community stronger.
Saturday & Sunday, July 4–5
The Tofino Saltwater Derby
If you have access to a boat, we’d love to have you register and join the derby. If you like getting out on the water and fish, please register and be a part of the derby for this weekend as it is truly “fishing for a cause” and it’s tons of fun!!
If you don’t have a boat, local charter operators can help get you out on the water so you can still participate in the experience and support the event.

Free Kids Dock Fishing
Kids 12 and under can take part in free dock fishing on Saturday, with prizes available and plenty of excitement for young anglers. No pre-registration required. Come on down between 9-3pm to take part.
The Tofino Saltwater Classic is much more than a fishing derby. It’s a community fundraiser that helps support programs and services that benefit local children, families, and organizations throughout the year.
Whether you volunteer, donate, attend an event, bid in the auction, or register for the derby, your participation makes a real difference.
