Exciting news announced at the Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration at Wickaninnish Community School

At the conclusion of today's Indigenous Peoples Day celebration at Wickaninnish Community School, acclaimed Tla-o-qui-aht carvers Hjalmer Wenstob and Timmy Masso shared the exciting news that they will be gifting a č̓iinuł (totem pole) to the school at next year's celebration. The generous announcement was made in recognition of the school's ongoing dedication to Indigenous culture and language. Deeply honoured by the gesture, the staff and students extend our heartfelt gratitude to both carvers, and we are looking forward to our continued collaboration and learning together.
