Student Cellphone Expectations at Howitt!

Howitt Cellphone expectations

Cell phones may be brought to school but must be kept in the student’s bag as soon as they arrive at school. Cell phones are not to be used during the school day! Cell phones may not be used in the changerooms or washrooms, or between classes. Students should not use their personal cell phones to contact home and/or their parent/guardians during school hours unless under the direction of a teacher or administrator.  If students are ill or need to communicate with a family member they are asked to check in with their teacher, or the office, so we can ensure their well-being and safety. As soon as students step onto school grounds in the morning their cellphones have to be away.

Students cannot have their cell phone on them. It must be hidden in their backpack until the end of the day. Students who are caught with their phone out in the morning, or during the remainder of the day will have it confiscated. A staff member will email home each time a cell phone is confiscated so that families can reinforce this message. Thank you for helping to support us with these expectations! Cell phones away for the day helps the learning environment and Howitt School Community!
