To assist you in your long-term planning the following days are listed as important events and days that will not be in session for students at John Howitt Elementary:

September 13^th         Lunch program starts

September 27^th         School Planning Day (professional development day, no school for students)

September 29^th         Orange Shirt Day (wear orange if you can!)

September 30^th         National Truth and Reconciliation Day (no school)

October 11^th             Statutory Holiday: Thanksgiving

October 14^th             Individual Student Photos

October 22^nd             Non-Instructional Day (no school for students)

October 29^th             Halloween @ Howitt

November 2, 3,4^th     Student Led Conferences: (early dismissal at noon)

November                Remembrance Day at Howitt

November 11^th          Statutory Holiday: Remembrance Day 

November 15^th          Non-Instructional Day (no school for students)

November 16^th          Photo Retakes (9:30 AM start)

December 17th          Last Day of School before winter break

Dec 20^th to Jan 3^rd     Winter Break

January 4^th               School Re-Opens (Tuesday)

January 26^th             Progress Reports go home

January 28^th             Non-Instructional Day (no school for students)

February 18^th            Non-Instructional Day (no school for students)

February 21^st            Statutory Holiday: Family Day

March 11th               Last Day before Spring Break

March 14^th-25^th         Spring Break (two weeks)

March 28^th               School Re-Opens

April 5, 6,7^th             Student Led Conferences (early dismissal at noon)

April 15^th                 Statutory Holiday: Good Friday

April 18^th                 Statutory Holiday: Easter Monday

April 22^nd                 School Based Pro-D Day (no school for students)

May 13^th                  School Based Pro-D Day (no school for students)

May 23^rd                  Statutory Holiday: Victoria Day

June 21^st                 National Aboriginal Day (school in session)

June 21^st                 First day of Summer

June 23^rd                 Last Day of School
