 Information for Teacher Positions

​Teacher personnel include school-based teachers, District Resource Teachers and Teachers Teaching-on-Call (TTOC’s).

Before being considered for a teaching position or for the TTOC list, teachers must hold a current BC Teaching Certificate and be a member of the British Columbia College of Teachers (BCCT). For more information on the BCCT please contact:

Application Process

All job positions are posted to the School District website only. Some specialty positions may be posted to Make a Future. External applicants are welcome to apply to all postings;  however, only internal applicants will be considered during year end postings until June 1st.  Mid year postings are open to both internal and external candidates.

 Application Packages should include:Cover Letter,Application Form.pdf , Resume, Criminal Record Check (VSS), Teaching Qualifications/Licenses, Certificates and Diplomas, Practicum Reports, Teaching Evaluations, Reference Letter(s), Transcripts.

Teachers Teaching on Call
The District welcomes TTOC applicants but has limited positions available.  Teachers with teaching specialties such as  French Immersion, or who are willing to TTOC in Tofino and Ucluelet, are encouraged to apply. The District manages two TTOC lists, one for the West Coast and one for the Valley.
Teacher-On-Call candidates must include the following information in their electronic portfolio:
  • TOC Application Form.pdf
  • covering letter
  •  current resume
  • most recent teaching report or student practicum report
  • proof of British Columbia College of Teachers (BCCT) membership
  • Teacher Qualification Service (TQS) placement
In addition to their electronic portfolio, TTOC applicants are required to provide two confidential references using the .  SD70 Professional Reference Form.pdf are available in pdf format at and should be forwarded directly by the referee to the District office.
