School District 70 has an employment hiring practice which gives priority hiring rights to teachers of Aboriginal ancestry subject to the hiring, posting and filling, transfer, layoff and recall provisions of the current collective agreement. School District 70 invites prospective applicants to self identify as aboriginal during the application process. The District welcomes Teacher on Call applicants but has limited positions available. Teachers with teaching specialties such as French Immersion, or who are willing to TOC in Tofino and Ucluelet, are encouraged to apply.
Teacher-On-Call candidates must include the following information in their electronic portfolio:
